Envision Unlimited’s Community Day Programming is expanding our Adventures Unlimited program to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who currently are not receiving DHS waiver services. Adventures Unlimited is a respite program offered to families in need of caregiver relief in the Chicago Metropolitan Area and beyond. Adventures Unlimited seeks to provide individuals and families with programming that more than meets their needs. Our programming addresses a wide range of interests and strengths, fosters self-esteem, builds confidence and brings out the adventurer in us all. This program is hoping to add one more team member. If rock wall climbing, indoor sky diving, an evening at the theater or an afternoon of goat yoga sound good…

Currently, seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to help with conducting outreach, intake interviews, reporting and filing exit surveys with each new client and submitting timely paperwork for quarterly DHS reports.

Some of the duties to include:

  • Conduct outreach opportunities at local schools, vocational fairs, conferences and community events.
  • Cold-calling individuals who have previously expressed interest in receiving services for themselves or a family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct interviews with individuals and family members to introduce the program and inquire about the needs of the household as it pertains to respite services.
  • Must be organized and take pertinent notes regarding preferences, behavioral needs and care required prior to scheduling an in-person activity.
  • Conduct exit surveys with each member after each activity to record feedback after participation in Adventures Unlimited activities.
  • Help schedule/organize calendar of events
  • Help organize receipts for events
  • Great communication skills

Our Must Haves:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent.
  • Attend mandatory trainings offered Monday -Friday 9am-5pm.
  • Pass a full criminal background check.
  • Must obtain a DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate and maintain annual certification for OIG Mandated Reporter for Abuse and Neglect, Rule 50
  • Licensed, insured Illinois driver. Access to vehicle. Able/willing to drive agency mini-vans.
  • Willing to attend a variety of Adventures on request
  • Computer competency

Nice To Haves: (but not required)

  • Six months or more experience working with the DD/ID population.
  • College course work in related field (social work/psychology/sociology/special education/rehabilitation/human services etc.)
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Hobby skills in the arena dance, arts & crafts, theater, gardening, sewing etc.



Location: unknown Chicago Area

Schedule: Part-time/20 hours per week– schedule may fluctuate Monday – Saturday. Some flexibility. Some work from home.

Salary: $20,000 annually

19.23/hrly
