Purpose:

To provide relief to the primary caretaker of a Specialized youth in their home and/or community

Qualifications: 

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable Transportation. Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a background clearance
Essential Responsibilities:

1.    Design and implement activities and programs which are consistent with goals and objectives of youth's educational and social needs.
2.    Provide supervision and guidance to youth while primary caretaker is out of the home.
3.    Provide instruction in personal hygiene, housekeeping, academics and other areas as requested by primary caretaker.
4.    Implement appropriate recreational/ leisure activities for the youth while promoting appropriate social interaction skills.
5.    Provide consistent behavior management for youth as per primary caretaker direction within DCFS and Envision's guidelines.
6.    Provide for a safe environment while primary caretaker is out of the home. Provide services to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of the child.
7.    Monitor and document family and/or sibling visits according to DCFS and Envision policy.
8.    Provide transportation to children, as needed for therapy appointments, visits with siblings/ family visits, etc. while in the care of Respite Provider.
