JOB TITLE: Clinical Therapist

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Clinical Services

STATUS: Exempt

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in counseling, guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, or family therapy or related field. Successfully completed a practicum or internship that included a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised direct service in a mental health setting. Must have excellent organizational and writing skills. Must be IM-CANs certified and familiar with mental health assessments and diagnosis. Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or severe and persistent mental illness is preferred.

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Member of the interdisciplinary team responsible for providing individual, family and/or group therapy services. Will maintain an individual caseload and is responsible for developing and facilitating at least one therapy group. Is responsible for completing all clinical documentation related to assigned caseload, which may include IM-CANs/comprehensive mental health assessment with treatment plan, LOCUS, SLOF and/or any other documentation required by state or grant funding sources. Licensed (LPHA) therapists will also supervise internes as authorized by the Director of Mental Health.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Provide group, family and individual therapy using evidenced based practices.

· Ensure all services provided are in accordance with client’s individual treatment plan.

· Enter, maintain, and update clients’ information in Envision Unlimited Electronic Health Record (Quantum). i.e. face sheet, treatment plan, and diagnoses.

· Complete required productivity targets and documentation on a timely basis, including clinical documentation, service reporting, and billing.

· Provide and document crisis interventions as needed, within 24 hours of an incident, and complete an incident reports when necessary.

· Provide referrals for additional services, including case management, as needed.

· Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with changes to program needs and schedule as the need arises.

· Attend all scheduled clinical meetings including Group Supervision, Clinical Staff team meetings and All Staff meetings.

· Participate in/attend committee meetings as assigned.

· Attend special events for clients and assist as needed.

· Attend individual weekly supervision at scheduled time, having prepared questions/concerns and ready to report on progress and productivity.

· Attend agency trainings as required.

· Attend internal and/or external trainings when available and approved (minimum of 15 hours/year).

· Be prepared to present information from outside trainings to clinical staff.

· Develop, utilize, and share clinical group curricula, keeping it up to date and adding new ideas or activities.

· Support other members of the clinical team by assisting with coverage as needed.

· Inform supervisor of any condition that impacts the safety and wellbeing of clients served. Seek assistance as necessary to mitigate risk.

· Seek out supervision as needed.

· Provide supervision to student interns as assigned.

· Punctuality. Arrives to work, meetings, and all work-related functions on time. Report any absence, tardiness, or schedule change to supervisor as soon as possible.
